![]() Introduction You are Kuros, a brave knight seeking to save princesses, amass treasure, and destroy the evil wizard Malkil. Your journey takes you through dense forests, into dark caverns, and finally, to castle Ironspire, Malkil's domain. You begin with only a suit of armor and your trusty sword, but many potions can be found scattered about the landscape which temporarily improve your abilities. Throwing knives and magic items, such as Boots of Lava Walk and a Cloak of Darkness, will aid you in your quest...if you can find them. Fame and riches await! This game actually belonged to a friend of mine. I never owned it myself, but I borrowed it from him and played it to death. It was the first video game I ever finished (probably because you have infinite continues). It was so different than anything I'd ever seen before (I had an Atari 2600 before this). When I got to borrow it, I played it nonstop. While the game is pretty simple by today's standards, it still is fun to play (partly because it is so simple). In getting pictures and sounds for this web page, I had a great time playing through the entire game. The fact that you have unlimited continues really makes the game super easy, but it's better than having limited continues (Wizards and Warriors 2 suffers because of that). Most of the levels are a cinch, but that last boss is a bit tricky. Below I've listed all the enemies and items in the game. I've tried to make this the ultimate resource for Wizards and Warriors fans. Sections Introduction A brief introduction to the game. LevelsA tour of the many dangerous lands Kuros must travel through to reach his goal. EnemiesA catalog of the myriad armies of the evil wizard Malkil. BossesThe major enemies Kuros must defeat in order to succeed. TreasureDescriptions of all the various treasures Kuros may come across during his quest. Other ItemsThere are a few very handy items that aid our brave hero in his quest. Go here to find out what they are. MusicMusic ripped from the game. Addendum Here is a text file version of the game's instruction booklet. Here is the NES rom for Wizards & Warriors. You can find emulators for this at Zophar's Domain. I recommend Nesticle, but there are newer, better emulators out there. |
